How to Schedule a Tour at the Historic Old City Cemetery
Guided group tours can be scheduled for schools, clubs, or other organizations. Tours may be scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays.
A general history, garden or school tour is approximately one to one and a half hours and involves a leisurely walking pace.
There are three garden areas available for tours - California Native Plant Demonstration Garden, Hamilton Square Perennial Garden and Historic Rose Garden.
Visitors can do any combination of garden/history tour that they'd like, assuming we can find tour guides. Some tours may include both a garden and a history tour with a lunch break in between.
Schools tours will concentrate on topics matched to the California State Curriculum Standards as they relate to the residents in the cemetery and early Sacramento.
