The Adopt A Plot Program is an innovative concept in
cemetery restoration, beautification, and preservation.
It offers individuals, groups, organizations, societies
and companies the opportunity to play a vital role in
saving and preserving a historic Sacramento landmark.
The concept is simply people getting involved in efforts
to revitalize a community resource, restore its past
dignity and beauty, and preserve it for generations yet
to come - that they might point with pride to the
results of a community endeavor. By adopting a pioneer
family's plot and caring for it, you become a vital part
of the cemetery's restoration and preservation program.
A few hours of your time each month and a little
landscaping imagination can make up for the years of
neglect that frequently plagues our old pioneer
Adopt A Plot Program can be more than taking care of a
piece of ground. The Old City Cemetery Committee, Inc.
encourages participants in the program to research their
particular pioneer family's history which, in itself,
can be a truly rewarding experience. And by contributing
your research to our Cemetery archives of biographical
information, you also help to preserve history. So you
see, you can play a vital and important role in
beautifying our Historic City Cemetery and preserving

The Adopt A Plot Program involves a commitment of time.
Those who are interested and contemplating participation
should carefully weigh that commitment before
undertaking their project. The duration of the adopter's
involvement in this program shall be contingent upon
that period of time agreed to in the contract and their
continuing desire to participate. The minimum
participation requirement in the program is two years.
Other arrangements, however, may be made with the
cemetery supervisor/program coordinator.

Those wanting to help the program but unable to contribute
