Rose Propagation Workshop
September 11,
10 am - Noon
Historic Rose Garden
Historic Rose Garden
volunteers and propagators Janelle Michel and Kathryn
Mackenzie will conduct a hands-on rose propagation
workshop on Saturday, September 11, from 10:00 am to
noon.
Learn how to select the best
plant material, how to prepare the cuttings and how to
root them using the "terrarium" approach. They will
also discuss how to grow the rooted cuttings into plants
that are ready to be planted in the garden. Workshop
participants will have the opportunity to take and
stick a few cuttings of their own to take home with
them.
There is no charge for this
workshop, but donations will be gratefully accepted. A
variety of roses propagated from the cemetery's
collection will also be offered for sale, at a price of
$12 for one-gallon plants and $20 for two-gallon.
